Joe Armstrong

Joe Armstrong is the principle inventor of the Erlang programming Language and coined the term "Concurrency Oriented Programming". He works for Ericsson where he developed Erlang and was chief architect of the Erlang/OTP system. Joe has a PhD in computer science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH), Sweden and is an expert in the construction of fault tolerant systems.

Gilad Bracha

Gilad Bracha is a Distinguished Engineer at Cadence Design Systems. Previously, he was a Computational Theologist and Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems. He is co-author of the Java Language Specification, and a researcher in the area of object-oriented programming languages. Prior to joining Sun, he worked on Strongtalk, the Animorphic Smalltalk System.

Krzysztof Diks

Teacher at Warsaw University. Computer scientist specializing in algorithmics, in particular algorithmic graph theory and concurrent and distributed computing. One of translators of Donald Knuth's "The Art Of Computer Programing" into polish. The topic of his lecture is "The Algorithmics of the Internet"

Jakub Dziwisz

Jakub Dziwisz works at Sabre as Agile Engineering Mentor since November 2006 r. He occasionally runs workshops about light project management methodologies. He spends most of his time solving real-life problems (difficult client, complicated code) which make it hard to apply Agile practices. He has graduated Computer Science on AGH University of Technology.

Maciej Fijałkowski

Maciej Fijalkowski is a core developer of PyPy - a Python Interpreter and Compiler and of py.test, a popular testing tool. He has successfully completed a Summer of Code project and was contracted by merlinux (germany) for several tasks in the PyPy EU research project. He gave talks at international European and US Python community conferences.

Michael Foord

Michael has been developing with Python for five years. He is currently a senior developer with Resolver Systems in the UK, developing a "Programmable Spreadsheet" called Resolver, written in IronPython. He has been involved in several Open Source projects, written many articles on Python and IronPython, and is still writing a book for Manning Publications called "IronPython in Action".

Chad Fowler

Chad Fowler has been a software developer and manager for some of the world's largest corporations. He recently lived and worked in India, setting up and leading an offshore software development center. He is co-founder of Ruby Central, Inc., a non-profit corporation responsible for the annual International Ruby Conference and The International Rails Conference, and is a leading contributor in the Ruby community. Chad is a contributor and editor for numerous books and is author of My Job Went to India (and all I got was this lousy book): 52 Ways to Save Your Job, Rails Recipes and the upcoming Advanced Rails Recipes.

Jonathan Hartley

Jonathan Hartley is delighted to find himself developing in IronPython for Resolver Systems, a feisty Python-centric start-up, populated entirely by people who are smarter than he is. He has 13 years experience in software engineering, on projects such as digital signal processing of radar waveforms for the Eurofighter aircraft, and geographical information systems for clients such as Ordnance Survey. He has a keen interest in refining software development methodology to gradually converge upon the manifold aspects of that elusive Silver Bullet. He lives in London with his fiancée Susan and two trusty Guitar Hero controllers.

Piotr Kluczwajd

He graduated from Śląski University of Technology in Gliwice in Computer Science faculty. In his professional work he handles advanced net security systems, especially firewall systems, IPS, PKI technologies and complex authorization systems. Author of various publications and lectures connected with net technologies and their security. In 2001-2003 he was a director of Clico Sp. Z.o.o. in Katowice. From the beginning of 2004 he has been a Development Director for the same company.

Arkadiusz Kozak

Oficer, 11 lat służby - ekspert Komendy Wojewódzkiej Policji w Szczecinie w zakresie ujawniania i zwalczania przestępczości przeciwko własności intelektualnej i przemysłowej. Biegły Sądu Okręgowego w Szczecinie w dziedzinie teleinformatyki. Zajmuje się m.in. kompleksowym prowadzeniem badań i analiz materiałów dowodowych w zakresie przestępczości teleinformatycznej.

Andrzej Krzywda

Andrzej runs a company which specialises in creating Rails applications. REST and TDD/BDD are the main design techniques used in his projects. He mentors other Rails developers. He is also employed with Resolver Systems writing a desktop application in IronPython. Andrzej is a software developer with over 8 years of IT experience. His blog (andrzejkrzywda.com) mostly focuses on dynamic languages and agile topics.

Michał Moskal

Inventor of Nemerle - a programming language offering functional, object-oriented and imperative features along with powerful meta-programming system. Member of PLD linux team. Creator of widely used PLD installer. Currently works on Fx7 – Satisfiability Modulo Theories solver.

Jan Mrzygłód

Absolwent Akademii Górniczo Hutniczej, na Wydziale EAIiE. Architekt systemowy, od kilku lat zajmuje się projektowaniem rozwiązań informatycznych głównie na bazie platformy Java Enterprise Edition. Uczestniczył w wielu komercyjnych wdrożeniach zarówno krajowych jak i zagranicznych opartych o paradygmaty architektury zorientowanej na usługi (SOA). Brał również udział w innowacyjnych przedsięwzięciach realizowanych w oparciu o technologie SemanticWeb wraz z wykorzystaniem techniki AJAX. Wielokrotny uczestnik konferencji dotyczących rozwiązań firmy BEA, w szczególności o tematyce poświęconej architekturom integracyjnej (EAI/BPM). (Software Mind)

Dirk Muthig

Dirk Muthig is a Division Manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany, For more than 10 years he is involved in applied research in the field of software architectures and product lines. His research is driven by the needs of organization in improving their software production with respect to both efficiency and quality. He recevied his diploma in computer science, as well as his Ph.D., from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.

Marcin Nowrot

Łukasz Pobereżnik

Student of AGH - Univeristy of Science and Technology. His hobby and work is linked with problems of automation of software testing in production environments. He also interests in satellite navigation systems and mobile devices.

Aleksander Pohl

PhD student and graduate of EAIiE department of AGH in Cracow and graduate of philosophical faculty of Jagiellonian University. He sees the phenomenon of human language and so tries to develop it in IT discipline and philosophy. He's scientific interests are concentrated on natural language processing, especially in problem of determining multi-meaning.

Piotr Róg

Piotr Róg jest absolwentem Politechniki Krakowskiej oraz Akademii Ekonomicznej w Krakowie posiada 6 letnie doświadczenie w programowaniu w języku JAVA (głównie na platformach J2EE). W swojej karierze programował takze w językach Ansii C/ C++ na platformach UNIX oraz Windows. Od 2 lat zajmuje sie głównie projektowaniem systemów J2EE a od niedawna także zarządzaniem projektami. Posiada publikacje w prasie specjalistycznej. Od 2 lat pracuje nad własnym fremeworkiem realizującym model SOA w aplikacjach J2EE i wciąż nie znajduje czasu na jego publikację. Leo Sauermann

Researcher at German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. His works focus is on Semantic Web and its use in Knowledge Management. He maintains the open-source project gnowsis - an attempt to bring semantic web and semantic desktop to everyday life.

Lucjan Sosna

Lucjan Sosna has been working at Sabre since 5 years - he started as Java programmer. At the moment he is developing project for Hotels Global Convergence.

Paweł Sołyga

Paweł Sołyga is a computer science student at Wrocław University of Technology. He is a co-founder of Natural User Interface Group (NUI Group), whose main areas of interest are modern user interfaces and in particular mutlitouch sreens. Paweł is also known for participation in Google Summer of Code. He's a software engineer at Natural User Interface AB, working on innovative multitouch applications.

Mariusz Stawowski

He handles IT security from 1996. He achieved CISSP certificate and the highest levels of specialization in security technologies, namely Check Point and Juniper Networks. He’s an author of over 50 articles in IT press and five books about security issues.

Paweł Wołoszyn

Although he graduated in medical faculty, he is deeply involved into computer science, developing computerized biological life models. His course of studies involves complex systems, deterministic chaos and Artificial Intelligence.
